Dave and Warren met many years ago whilst serving in the 2nd Commando Regiment, and were deployed overseas together on a number of operations.
The Special Forces ingrained a culture of discipline and principled decision making, which Dave and Warren have brought into Loudon & Vaughan, and which they use to help manage and grow client’s wealth.

Financial Services GuideWorking as a financial adviser allows me to help people live better lives. With the right knowledge applied wisely, you can change your financial position now and create a more positive financial future, regardless of your age or current situation.
My military background has taught me that a life must be lived for a purpose, it must be appreciated, and it must be lived for the betterment of others. Every day of my life I strive to be the best that I can be, in honour of my friends and comrades who are no longer with us. In every interaction I will put my client’s interests before mine, because it is the right thing to do… (I believed this before it was legislated). My goal is to improve the lives of everyone I work with, through the application of my knowledge and energy.
When you are ready to make positive change and growth in your financial situation or secure your wealth to best advantage, and want someone you can trust to guide you through the process, I am ready to help.

Firstly, a little about me – I started my career in merchant banks, in the back office and trading functions of foreign exchange and futures contracts. I then served in the special forces 2nd Commando Regiment, with multiple overseas tours. After being medically discharged, I was completing further studies to re-join the finance industry, and was struck by a life threatening illness. I met my wife, kicked the illness, finished my degree and found my new career. I then accomplished my biggest achievement to date, becoming a father to my son Joey, at the same time as starting Loudon & Vaughan with my lifelong friend Warren.
So why financial advising? I love that it takes so many forms. It can be as simple as reassuring a client on their current situation with a ‘thumbs up’, or it can be complex advice covering multiple areas of their finances in complicated scenarios. My clients range from young adults saving for their first home, to retired couples wanting to secure their lifestyle and be comfortable travelling the country in a caravan. I love that no day, client or situation is the same, and I learn these facts, rules and regulations to apply them to real people in real situations. Now if that doesn’t get you out of bed singing, I don’t know what will.
My relationships with my clients are straight forward and genuine, and I love the human connection that I get to have with my clients. The majority are some of the closest people in my life, being family, friends, or people I served with in the special forces. So rest assured that anyone who asks me for help is treated the same, and is advised with as much effort as my mother or my wife.

I started my journey in financial planning in 2008, when I moved to Australia from the UK. My husband is an ex Royal Marine Commando and I used to be in the Royal Navy; we moved to Sydney when he joined the Australian Army.
Prior to joining Loudon & Vaughan Private Wealth I managed a large financial planning practice for 13 years and I also have experience working for a corporate insurance company.
With an extensive background in customer service, I enjoy all aspects of the administration side of financial planning and liaising with our clients to ensure their journey with us runs smoothly.
